THE PRESENTATION
While Jacques Lacan is read and revered in English departments across the
country, American practitioners remain skeptical. What exactly is Lacanian
analysis? How is it different from Anglo-American practice? Deborah Anna
Luepnitz, one of the few Americans to have undergone a Lacanian analysis, will
begin to answer these questions, using as a basis of comparison, her previous
object relations analysis. She will explore the nature of the transference, the
position of the analyst, and the goals of treatment in the British and French
models. Please join us for a fascinating and most unique
presentation.
