A Novel Approach to Understanding the Etiology and Treatment of Panic Attacks: A Presentation, a Workshop, a Conversation about Paradigms 

Presenter—Jeanne Seitler, Psy.D.

Learning Objectives
  • Participants will learn a new, non-biological model for conceptualizing the etiology of panic attacks.
  • Participants will be able to articulate what factors predispose certain individuals, rather than others, to having repeated panic attacks which if not treated can lead to Panic Disorder. 
  • Participants will learn several techniques for assisting clients with the self-reorganization necessary for the resolution of panic.
Date:  January 28, 2007
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.—Brunch
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.—Presentation
12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.—Discussion

Cost / Registation: Each brunch, including CEU credits, is free for members of PSPP. Nonmembers may attend the brunches for free, but must pay $25 if they wish to receive CEU credits for their attendance. Registration in advance helps us to plan for the refreshments and seating arrangements. 
CE Credits: Psychologists—2.0 Continuing education credits will be offered by the Philadelphia Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology. Upon completion of the workshop evaluation form, a certificate will be provided. This serves as documentation of attendance for all participants. Psychologists will have their participation registered through Division 39. Division 39 is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Division 39 maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Social Workers—CE credits for licensed social workers have been applied for. Please call Jay Moses, Ph.D. at 267-254- 0791 prior to each brunch to confirm that the program has been approved. Please note that we will be unable to provide social work CE credits for the February brunch.
